In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to make your own fire cider from scratch and how to use it at home. Traditionally enjoyed by the spoonful or added to warm water, sparkling water, salad dressings, marinades, and other foods, fire cider is a versatile way to incorporate herbs and warming ingredients into everyday life. It’s especially nice to have on hand during fall and winter when you’re looking for simple, nourishing additions to your kitchen and home herbal pantry.

Traditionally, people use it to:

  • Support digestion- the vinegar and pungent herbs are traditionally used to stimulate digestion and appetite.
  • Support circulation and sinus congestion- ginger, horseradish, cayenne, garlic, and other warming ingredients are traditionally associated with promoting circulation and helping you feel warm and clear.
  • Support the body during cold and flu season- many herbalists and families use fire cider as part of their seasonal wellness routine
  • Add herbs to the everyday diet- it can be taken by the spoonful, diluted in water, or incorporated into food.
  • Give a little seasonal boost - some people enjoy the invigorating, spicy flavor when they're feeling sluggish during the colder months.

This traditional herbal preparation combines apple cider vinegar with ingredients like garlic, ginger, onion, herbs, and warming spices to create a bold, flavorful vinegar that many families keep on hand during the colder months.

You’ll learn the purpose behind the ingredients, how to prepare and store your fire cider, and how to make future batches at home. You’ll leave with your own jar of fire cider and the confidence to make it again, along with instructions for straining and using it once it’s ready.

This is a hands-on workshop, which will require the use of a cutting knife. Contact Kim ahead of time if you need accommodations.

Recommended Ages: 12+, must be supervised by an adult
